Hermosa Beach Seniors: Enhance Your Safety with Police Department House Check Programs

The Hermosa Beach Police Department offers several programs designed to enhance the safety and well-being of senior residents, both at home and away. These programs provide valuable peace of mind for seniors and their families.

The Hermosa Beach Police Department offers the following programs:

Homeward Bound Program: This program is specifically designed for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease. Family members can provide the Police Department with vital personal information and emergency contact details. This information can be crucial in quickly locating and safely returning seniors who may wander from their home or care facility.

Vacation Check Program: Going out of town? Hermosa Beach residents can request exterior home checks from vetted volunteers in the Volunteers in Policing (VIP) program and/or Police Officers. To ensure proper processing, submit the Vacation Check request form to the Program Coordinator no less than 5 days prior to your departure.

You Are Not Alone Program: This program provides regular check-ins for seniors. Family members can request that a vetted VIP volunteer and/or Police Officer make regular visits to their senior loved ones. These visits include documenting medications, doctor contact information, the senior’s physical condition, and general living conditions.
