A Cultural Outing to Mission San Gabriel

History buffs and culturally curious seniors in Manhattan Beach have an exciting opportunity to explore one of Southern California’s most historic sites. Cindy’s Mini Bus Trip takes participants to Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, often called the “Godmother of Los Angeles,” for a compact but meaningful cultural experience.

Founded in 1771, this Spanish mission showcases distinctive Moorish-influenced architecture, a six-bell campanario, peaceful gardens, and a small museum preserving artifacts from the region’s early history. Today, it remains an active parish while welcoming visitors who want to connect with California’s roots.
