Supporting Seniors Living with Parkinson’s Disease
-
April 1, 2026 / Caring Hearts Charity
April is recognized nationwide as Parkinson’s Awareness Month – a time to bring attention to a condition that affects millions of individuals and families across the country. For those living with Parkinson’s disease, daily life can come with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges that evolve over time.
At Heartfelt Care Agency, we see those challenges up close. We also see the resilience, strength, and determination of the seniors and families navigating this journey. That’s why many of our caregivers receive specialized training to support clients living with Parkinson’ – helping them maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life at home.
This month, we’re taking that commitment a step further by supporting local nonprofit organizations throughout Southern California that provide critical resources for seniors living with Parkinson’s.
Local Organizations Making a Difference
We believe support should start within the community. The following organizations are doing meaningful, hands-on work in the counties we serve:
Los Angeles County

Why Local Support Matters
Organizations like these play a vital role in helping seniors remain active, informed, and connected. Their programs go far beyond basic resources by creating a sense of community and belonging.
Here’s how they make a real impact:
- Support Groups: Offering both emotional encouragement and practical advice for individuals and caregivers
- Education: Helping families better understand symptoms, progression, and care options
- Movement & Exercise Programs: Supporting mobility, balance, and overall health
- Advocacy: Giving a voice to those affected and pushing for better resources and awareness
For many families, these services become an essential part of their care journey.
How You Can Get Involved
Awareness is powerful, but action is what creates change. If you’re looking to make a difference this April, here are a few meaningful ways to help:
- Donate: Even a small contribution can help sustain local programs and services
- Volunteer: Your time and skills can directly impact someone’s day-to-day life
- Share Information: Spreading awareness helps more families find the support they need
